What is a DIMM Module?
A DIMM or dual in-line memory module comprises a series of dynamic random-access memory integrated circuits. These modules are mounted on a printed circuit board and designed for use in personal computers, workstations and servers. DIMMs began to replace SIMMs (single in-line memory modules) as the predominant type of memory module as Intel P5-based Pentium processors began to gain market share. While the contacts on SIMMs on both sides are redundant, DIMMs have separate electrical contacts on each side of the module. Another difference is that standard SIMMs have a 32-bit data path, while standard DIMMs evolved to incorporate a 64-bit data path. Since Intel's Pentium, many processors have a 64-bit bus width, requiring SIMMs installed in matched pairs in order to populate the data bus. The processor would then access the two SIMMs in parallel. DIMMs were introduced to eliminate this practice.
PC3 v.s. PC3L
- The difference between these two DIMMs is nothing but the voltage consumption. The PC3L DIMM consumes lower voltage. This reduces heating and enables faster operation
- Also the lower the operating voltage, (1.35V, 1.25V) the faster the memory can theoretically operate because the transition from a zero to a one state requires less voltage shift. It take less time to go from a zero to 1.25V than it does to go from zero to 1.5V. So the memory cell becomes ready sooner.
- PC3L DIMMs will be compatible only on the latest 3rd generation processors.
What is ECC Memory?
Error-correcting code memory (ECC memory) is a type of computer data storage that can detect and correct the most common kinds of internal data corruption. ECC memory is used in most computers where data corruption cannot be tolerated under any circumstances, such as for scientific or financial computing. Typically, ECC memory keeps a memory system immune to single-bit errors: the data that is read from each word is always the same as the data that had been written to it, even if one or more bits actually stored have been flipped to the wrong state. Most non-ECC memory cannot detect errors but, some non-ECC memory with parity support allows detection without correction.
What is Registered Memory?
Registered (also called buffered) memory modules have a register between the DRAM modules and the system's memory controller. They place less electrical load on the memory controller and allow single systems to remain stable with more memory modules than they would have otherwise. When compared with registered memory, conventional memory is usually referred to as unbuffered memory or unregistered memory. When manufactured as a dual in-line memory module (DIMM), a registered memory module is called an RDIMM, while unregistered memory is called UDIMM.

The main difference between "refurbished" and "used" products is that refurbished products have been tested and verified to function properly, and are thus free of defects, while "used" products may or may not be defective. When returning any memory modules, the items must be returned to Natex within 30 days of the invoice date for this policy to apply. For a replacement of any memory modules, the items must be returned to Natex within 60 days of the invoice date. Return is defined as receipt of the product by Natex, and not the mere issuance of an RMA.
The following conditions are not acceptable for return:
*Modules exhibiting physical damage.
*Modules that are missing the manufacturer label containing model number, part number or serial number.

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
