What is a Server?
In computing, a server is a computer program or a device that provides functionality for other programs or devices, called "clients." This architecture is called the client-server model, and a single overall computation is distributed across multiple processes or devices. Servers can provide various functionalities, often called "services," such as sharing data or resources among multiple clients, or performing computations for a client. A single server can serve multiple clients, and a single client can use multiple servers. A client process may run on the same device or may connect over a network to a server on a different device. Typical servers are database servers, file servers, mail servers, print servers, web servers, game servers, and application servers. Client-server systems are today most frequently implemented by (and often identified with) the request-response model: a client sends a request to the server, which performs some action and sends a response back to the client, typically with a result or acknowledgement. Designating a computer as "server-class hardware" implies that it is specialized for running servers on it. This often implies that it is more powerful and reliable than standard personal computers, but alternatively, large computing clusters may be composed of many relatively simple, replaceable server components.
A rack unit, U or RU as a unit of measure describes the height of electronic equipment designed to mount in a 19-inch rack or a 23-inch rack. The 19 inches (482.60 mm) or 23 inches (584.20 mm) dimension reflects the width of the equipment mounting-frame in the rack including the frame; the width of the equipment that can be mounted inside the rack is less. One rack unit is 1.75 inches (44.45 mm) high. Coincidentally, 1U is exactly equal to 1 vershok, an obsolete Russian measure of length. While the rack unit describes the height (or number of units) for both 19-inch and 23-inch-wide racks, it is 19-inch-wide racks that are most commonly used, which is usually 17.25 in (438 mm) wide. The 23-inch racks are from the Western Electric 23-inch standard, with holes on 1-inch (25.4 mm) centers; it is still used in legacy ILEC/CLEC facilities. The height of rack-mounted equipment is frequently described as a number in "U." For example, one rack unit is often referred to as "1U," 2 rack units as "2U," and so on.
What are Natex Refurbished Electronics?
Our refurbished products have been decommissioned from working environments. Refurbished products are always tested for functionality and defects before they are sold. The main difference between "refurbished" and "used" products is that refurbished products have been tested and verified to function properly, and are thus free of defects, while "used" products may or may not be defective. Refurbished products may also be unused customer returns that are essentially "new" items.
Server Return Policy
*Return for full refund within 30 days.

When returning any configured servers, the items must be returned to Natex within 30 days of the invoice date for this policy to apply. For a replacement of configured servers or internal components, the items must be returned to Natex within 60 days of the invoice date. Return is defined as receipt of the product by Natex, and not the mere issuance of an RMA.
The following conditions are not acceptable for return:
*Server(s) and Component(s) exhibiting physical damage.
*Server(s) and Component(s) that are missing the manufacturer label containing model number, part number or serial number.

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
